Woody Allen follows up the charming A Rainy Day In New York with another film centric romantic comedy about a slightly stale marriage that gets spiced up in the wrong way at the San Sebastián Film Festival. Wallace Shawn is a writer who accompanies his publicist wife played by the vivacious Gina Gershon to the romantic Spanish setting which sends them on separate affairs both real and longed for, she with a brilliant Spanish movie director, and he with a sultry local doctor. The resolution, reminiscent of Annie Hall, is a bittersweet coda on aging, endings and regret.
